These chipsets redefine the boundaries of Large Scale Integration, seamlessly incorporating state-of-the-art systems design and nanometer chip technology. This remarkable feat empowers ReefShark chipsets to pack an abundance of capabilities and functionality into a compact hardware footprint, a stark contrast to products reliant on discrete components. Drawing upon years of AI innovation from Nokia Bell Labs, these chipsets ensure that every network element, from massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (mMIMO) antennas to radio and baseband, exhibit quality, performance, and efficiency. Notably, AirScale can be seamlessly upgraded to full 5G functionality. These plug-in units deliver an exceptional threefold increase in throughput, elevating Nokia’s already market-leading 28 Gbps to 84 Gbps per module.

Additionally, the chaining capability of AirScale baseband modules supports base station throughputs of up to 6 terabits per second. This capacity empowers CSPs to effectively cater to the surging demands for densification while robustly supporting the enhanced mobile broadband requirements of both individuals and the burgeoning multitude of devices in megacities.

The ReefShark chipset family is made up of a comprehensive lineup of solutions, including the ReefShark Digital Front End for LTE and 5G radio systems, ReefShark RFIC and transceiver for radio heads equipped with mMIMO capabilities, ReefShark integrated transceiver accommodating mMIMO, LTE, and 5G radio systems, and finally, the ReefShark Baseband Processor—a true marvel of an All-in-One Base Station (AIO-BTS) encapsulated within a Baseband System on a Chip (SoC).
