What Is Long-Haul?

While there is no set distance to determine long-haul, it typically includes any distance from 20-50km or further. Additionally, long-haul microwave radio links operate at lower frequencies and are licensed by government or military entities. Conversely, short-haul microwave radio links typically only cover a few kilometers.

Benefits of Ultra-Broadband Transceivers (UBT)

The Nokia Wavence Ultra-Broadband Transceivers (UBT) low frequencies (6-11 GHz) family provides high-capacity, low latency microwave transport for long haul applications in split-mount or standalone configuration. The UBT-T is a “dual carrier in a box” configuration supporting multiple microwave frequencies.

The Nokia Wavence UBT-T implements an innovative product design, with a hardware split between the active wideband radio part and the passive part interfacing the antenna. Thanks to this design, the UBT-T can be mounted on a diplexer, or the outdoor combiner (OCM) used when high-capacity links require multiple channels connected to the same antenna.

The UBT-T XP takes these capabilities to a new level, providing extreme and unmatched RF output power. Leveraging a highly advanced radio and carrier aggregation, the UBT-T XP, like other UBTs, efficiently supports backhaul with both multi-gigabit capacity and low latency.

Wavence Ultra-Broadband Transceiver Twin XP (ETSI/ANSI)

UBT-XP supports ETSI or ANSI channels, enabling highly flexible deployment options. Hardware and branching configurations are implemented inside the AIM, simplifying installation and maintenance, while the innovative design includes a hardware split between the active wideband radio and the Antenna Interface Module (AIM).

Wavence UBT-I (ANSI)

Common management and consistent operations across end-to-end packet microwave networks are enabled by integrating the UBT-I units with the Nokia Network Services Platform. The UBT-I, in conjunction with the Wavence Microwave Service Switch (MSS) sets the standard for delivering fast, efficient wireless transmission links with simple operations and flexible networking.

Wavence MPT Long-haul ANSI

The Nokia Network Services Platform supports integration with the entire Wavence portfolio, including the MPT-HLC units. This enables consistent operation across end-to-end packet microwave networks and, when combined with the Wavence MSS, sets the standard for simple operations, flexible networking, and fast, efficient wireless transmission links.

Wavence Outdoor Combiner Module

Thanks to its innovative design, which includes a hardware split between the active wideband radio part and the passive part interfacing the antenna, the UBT-T can interface diplexer or OCM when high-capacity links require multiple channels connected to the same antenna. This compact, low-weight solution has limited insertion losses and enhanced RF performances and supports split mount and full outdoor with the same radio, allowing full outdoor long-haul radio without using the external cabinet.

Wavence MSS ANSI

The MPT-HL Slim integrates with the rest of the Wavence portfolio via the Nokia Network Services Platform, which enables consistent operations across end-to-end packet microwave networks. The MPT also raises the bar for delivering fast, efficient wireless transmission links with flexible networking and simple operations when paired with the Wavence Microwave Service Switch (MSS).

The MPT, when combined with the Wavence Microwave Service Switch (MSS), sets the standard for delivering fast, efficient wireless transmission links with flexible networking and simple operations. The MPT-HL Slim units enable consistent operations across end-to-end packet microwave networks when they’re integrated into the Nokia Network Services Platform for common management with the rest of the Wavence portfolio.
